Louis Vuitton is finding it’s way into the Gen Z marketplace.
According to Piper Jaffray’s recent study, “Taking Stock With Teens” which polled 9,500 teens about their favorite brands – 14% of them named Louis Vuitton. Louis Vuitton was second to only Michael Kors, who secured 27% of the vote.
This may seem like a large gap between the two top brands, however at this time last year the survey reported that only 9% of the teens named Louis Vuitton, whereas Michael Kors is showing a 1% decrease in market share.
Louis Vuitton’s growth in popularity among young people can likely be contributed to their new and untraditional products, younger celebrity endorsements, and growing social media presence with a current Instagram following of almost 35 million.
ForwardPMX recently named Louis Vuitton the most searched fashion brand among Gen Z – with a 15% mindshare.
So what does this mean for Luxury shoppers and collectors around the world?
It’s likely that Louis Vuitton, who has held strong for some 165 years already, will remain a smart investment with growing popularity and demand for years to come.
